Dear Customers,
I write this to notify you about the consequences of the new sugar contract which runs from October 2022. We have been informed by the suppliers that we will be receiving an increase in our sugar price in excess of 30% from 1st October. Sugar is obviously one of our main ingredients, so this increase has a significant impact upon our costs and profitability. The knock on effect of this is that our Mint Cake, Fudge and Treacle Toffee will be increasing by 10% on all orders made after 1st October.
Any orders that are currently already on the system as of today’s date, and any incoming orders where we are reasonably able to turn them around ahead of this date (as determined by George Romney Ltd) will be honoured at the old price in the event that there is a delay in despatch beyond 1st October.
We are very reluctant to do another price increase, but it is impossible for us not to pass on the direct cost increase onto customers.
