Romney's Kendal Mint Cake Sponsor the Upcoming Struggle Hill Climb Charity Event
We are proud to announce that George Romney LTD are the title sponsor for this years edition and the third iteration of The Struggle Hill Climb. Started in 2019 by Jack Talbot, the charity event is in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance with 100% of the £15 entry fee going directly to the local charity. The event takes place on the infamous and aptly named Struggle Hill. Starting in Ambleside, riders are taken on a 2.67 miles long journey, featuring an ascent of 386 vertical meters with an average gradient of 8%. This year the event is part of the North Lancashire Time Trials Association championships. The finish line is located just outside the famous Kirkstone Pass Inn, where riders will be greeted by large crowds ringing cow bells in encouragement. The Romney’s team will be giving each rider a bar of Romney’s Kendal Mint Cake and the male and female winners will each receive a limited edition Romney’s King of The Mountain cycling jersey. If you would like to compete in the event, please visit https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/race-details/23532 and register your entry via the online form.
John Barron (George Romney LTD managing director and 4th generation owner) had this to say about the upcoming charity event “We’re really excited to be the title sponsor of this years edition of the Struggle Hill Climb. Since the first edition in 2019, the event has gone from strength to strength and sees the very best hill climbers come together to compete in this colossal event of physical and mental endurance. The Struggle Hill climb has grown into something really special within the local area and we were so please when Jack asked us to get involved. The event raises money for a very special local charity and we are proud to provide support in anyway we possibly can. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us on the day and we’ll see a few of you at the finish line giving the brave riders encouragement until the very end!”
