George Romney at the 2023 Westmorland County Show

“We are thrilled to have a trade stand within the Westmorland Food Hall at the 2023 County Show. The County show is always a highlight on the calendar for the local area, bringing together the very best Cumbrian produce all to one area. The opportunity to share our award-winning Kendal Mint Cake, hand made Fudge & old fashioned Treacle Toffee with the public really excites me and the Romney's team. We’ve put a lot of hard work into the design of our trade stand, with a particular focus on our history and brand identity. If you are attending the show, make sure you come and sample our world-famous Kendal Mint Cake & crumbly butter fudge! Our good friends from the Mint Drinks Company will also be in attendance meaning you can try some of their delicious Kendal Mint Cake Vodka – the only liquor to use real pieces of Romney’s Kendal Mint Cake.” – Paula Barron, Romney’s Sales Director

For over 200 years, 224 years for Westmorland, agricultural shows have brought together communities, showcasing rural life while providing businesses a platform from which to trade.  Westmorland County Show has survived world wars, recessions, the Great British weather and the recent pandemic.

The 224th Westmorland County Show promises to be another excellent event.  Following the resounding success last year, this year’s Westmorland County Show will be held over 2 days again, on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 September.

For everyone’s enjoyment, there is a limited capacity per day and tickets will only be on sale at the gate if still available. A full programme of activities will be held on both days, including WI, Learning for Life, The Sheep Show, Vintage Tractors, forestry and craft demonstrations.  However, some sections, as listed below, will be day specific.  Alongside the magnificent Food Hall, Food Theatre, Craft Marquees and over 400 trade stands you are guaranteed a fabulous day at the Show.

The Westmorland Food Hall is organised and run by the Society’s own Food Hall committee made up of individual volunteer members and representatives of organisations such as Made in Cumbria, Food North West and Cumbria Tourism. Each year since the first Food Hall in 1999, the area has grown in quality and stature to what it is today.

Westmorland County Agricultural Society are committed to supporting and promoting Cumbria’s huge range of outstanding artisan food and drink producers and businesses.

To maintain the integrity and quality of the Food Hall, products must be either wholly produced or substantially manufactured and finished within Cumbria or the Society’s area (55 miles radius of Lane Farm) by the exhibitor or their staff.
