Burberry turns Harrods Knight Blue 1 - 29 February 2024
Romney's distinctive Kendal Mint Cake wrapper received a subtle alteration with the Burberry Equestrian Knight Design (EKD) logo replacing the 'o' within the Romney's brand name. The EKD represents honour, protection and reform, and dates to circa 1901.
The functional pocket tin seal has been replaced by a bold Ivy Green sticker, that also features the Burberry EKD.
During February, shoppers at Harrods will be able to visit the Burberry Camping Corner which boasts a selection of classic hiking accessories, including a display of Romney's famous Kendal Mint Cake.
We also partnered with Burberry to create the Harrods store facade using bars of Romney's Kendal Mint Cake and used 300 bars to replicate the iconic London landmark.
'We are extremely proud of how the bespoke Burberry Kendal Mint Cake Pocket Tin has come together. The final product is something that will be engrained within the company’s illustrious history for many years to come. From the initial meetings with Burberry representatives, it became clear that this project was going to be a huge undertaking for our 4th generation family business. However, the synergy between the two brands was undeniable. Both Romney’s and Burberry are quintessentially British brands that have deep roots with explorers and adventurers alike' - Greg Taylor, George Romney Ltd Operations Manager
"Burberry's heritage is rooted in outdoor exploration - from the invention of gabardine to outfitting explorers in the early 20th century. With Romney's Kendal Mint Cake being a favoured snack among adventurers and mountaineers, the collaboration is a celebration of British heritage and the spirit of adventure." - Burberry
